
Assinatura do Protocolo «Clube para a UNESCO F/SOS Fotografia, Património e Cidadania»

A new step for photography as a tool for culture, education and social transformation
Le Associação F/SOS – Fotografia, Solidariedade e Obras Sociais will sign, on 14 September, at 9:30 am, with the Portuguese National Commission for UNESCO, the protocol formalising the creation of the Clube para a UNESCO F/SOS – Fotografia, Património e Cidadania.
The ceremony will take place at the Casa-Museu Jaime Umbelino – CEF, Centro de Experimentação da Fotografia, in Foz do Arelho, which will also serve as the headquarters of the new Club.
The creation of this Club marks a highly significant moment in F/SOS’s journey. By joining the Rede Portuguesa de Associações e Clubes para a UNESCO, the Association reaffirms its commitment to using photography to promote education, culture, heritage preservation, social inclusion, visual literacy, human rights, sustainability, and intercultural dialogue.
The new Club aims to develop projects and initiatives that bring photography closer to communities, schools, and cultural and social institutions, promoting participation, citizenship and the appreciation of both tangible and intangible heritage.
Its areas of activity will include training, le creation of educational materials, exhibitions, debates, conferences, community projects et national et international cooperation initiatives, always in dialogue with the principles and objectives of UNESCO.
For F/SOS, this marks a new chapter in work that we have been developing for many years through photography, seeking to build bridges between people, territories, culture, education and memory.
