Ami Vitale

Ami Vitale is an award-winning photographer and filmmaker whose work spans more than 100 countries. Honored with World Press Photo awards and the Lucie Humanitarian Award, she is celebrated for powerful stories on conflict, conservation, and humanity. She is also the founder of Vital Impacts, supporting conservation and emerging storytellers worldwide.

Nick Brandt
Internationally Acclaimed Environmental Photographer
Internationally acclaimed photographer Nick Brandt is known for powerful series that confront the destructive impact of humankind on animals, people, and the environment. From his East African trilogy to Inherit the Dust, This Empty World, and the ongoing The Day May Break, his work blends striking visual storytelling with urgent ecological and humanitarian themes. Co-founder of Big Life Foundation, Brandt has exhibited worldwide and published multiple award-winning books.

Augusto Brázio
Documentary & Fine Art Photographer
Born in Brinches, Serpa, in 1964, Augusto Brázio studied at the Escola Superior de Belas Artes in Lisbon. Since the 1990s he has published over ten books, exhibited internationally, and won the Visão/BES Photojournalism Prize (2008). A former member of the Kameraphoto Collective and featured in RTP’s Entre Imagens, his recent work explores immigration, belonging, and the occupation of territory. He is represented by Galeria das Salgadeiras, with works in major public and private collections.

Clara Azevedo
Fujifilm Ambassador, Documentary Photographer
Fujifilm Ambassador and documentary photographer, Clara Azevedo has published 11 books and exhibited widely. She worked for Expresso newspaper, freelanced internationally, and served as Official Photographer to Portuguese Prime Minister António Costa (2016–2024).

Nuno Sá
Underwater Cameraman & Conservation Filmmaker
INuno Sá is an award-winning underwater cameraman whose work includes the BBC’s Blue Planet II and National Geographic. Founder of Atlantic Ridge Productions, he has filmed marine life across five continents and received a BAFTA and Panda Award for his cinematography.

Elisabete Mendes
Filmmaker & Photographer
Visual artist and surfer with over 15 years in cinema and audiovisuals. Founder of Swell Filmes, her award-winning documentaries (Amar o Mar, Xino – Uma Causa com Fibra) reflect a deep connection to the ocean, exploring identity, resilience, and transformation through the lens of film and photography.

Jorge Bacelar
Photographer · Humanitarian · Veterinarian
Internationally recognized for his intimate and dignified portraits of rural life, Bacelar combines his profession as a veterinarian with a deep commitment to photography. His acclaimed photobook Ruralidades captures the resilience of farmers, families, and animals in the Portuguese countryside. Through exhibitions and publications, his work bridges the heart of rural communities with the contemporary art world.

Rita Carmo
Photographer – Music & Portraits
Lisbon-based photographer Rita Carmo has been documenting Portugal’s music scene for over 30 years as resident photographer for Blitz magazine. Her work spans portraits, concerts, and award-winning photobooks, including Bandas Sonoras and Jorge Palma by Rita Carmo. In 2023 she received the Women in Music Industry Award by Aporfest and continues to teach and lead workshops in concert photography.

Nuno André Ferreira
World Press Photo & Rey de España Award-Winning Photojournalist
Born in Leiria in 1979, Nuno André Ferreira is an award-winning photojournalist based in Viseu. He has worked with Medialivre publications, Agência Lusa, and several national outlets. His photography has earned major international recognition, including the Rey de España International Journalism Prize (2019) and a World Press Photo Award (2021).

Anderson Nielsen
Artist & Creator of “Gigantes por Natureza”
Artist and photographer, Nielsen is the creator of Gigantes por Natureza, a long-term project that magnifies the hidden beauty of insects through large-scale portraits combining photography, painting, and design. Born in Brazil and based between Europe and Latin America, his work draws on his diverse cultural roots and childhood experiences in nature. Exhibited internationally, Gigantes por Natureza reflects on biodiversity, memory, and our connection to the environment.

Ana Baião
Documentary Photographer & Photojournalist
Ana Baião has been a photojournalist at Expresso since 2000, after starting her career at O Século and contributing to the Diário de Notícias, O Independente, and the Associated Press. Awarded by the Portuguese Parliament in 2004, she has been documenting the Alentejo cante tradition since 2014, resulting in several books, including 10 Years of Cante (2024).

Danielle Khan Da Silva
Software Engineer
Award-winning South Asian-Portuguese storyteller, National Geographic Explorer, and Founder of Photographers Without Borders. Creator of the Reclaim Power mentorship program, with projects spanning Indigenous science, ocean guardianship, and interspecies communication. Published by National Geographic, The Guardian, Patagonia, The Economist, and the United Nations. Recipient of the Sony Alpha Female award and named a Canadian Top 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leader.

nuno vasco rodrigues
Marine Biologist, Researcher & Underwater Photographer
Marine biologist and researcher at MARE IPLeiria, with a focus on fish ecology and author of three books. A certified diver since 2000, with over 1,500 hours underwater, he uses photography to reveal the wonders of marine life and raise awareness of threats such as climate change, overfishing, and pollution. His award-winning images have been published and exhibited internationally, inspiring action for the future of our oceans.

Pedro Rocha
Documentary Photographer & Photojournalist
A Lisbon-based freelance photographer whose work focuses on documentary projects exploring social and territorial issues. With a background in Architecture and formal training in photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography (Porto) and Black Kamera (Bilbao), his recent projects delve into themes of identity and memory. He regularly collaborates with news agencies, newspapers, and magazines, and his work has been featured in exhibitions such as BRAVA (Lisbon, 2025), BF24 Bienal de Fotografia de Vila Franca de Xira (2024), and Diário de uma Pandemia (2020–2021).

Marisa Branco Fernandes
Artist, Photographer & Painter
Marisa Martins (Art Branco) is a Lisbon-based artist, photographer, and painter whose work spans fashion photography, oil painting, and experimental mono prints. After studying Fine Arts in Germany, she has exhibited internationally, with her recent mono print series on Lisbon’s architecture gaining critical recognition.

Nuno Rocha
Documentary Photographer & Visual Artist
A photographer and visual artist whose work bridges photography, sound, and video. With a background in Painting, his practice explores perception as a critical and responsible act towards reality. He has exhibited in museums and galleries across Portugal and abroad, with projects ranging from installation to cross-disciplinary collaborations in visual and performing arts. His most recent work, Jagozes: Continuity and Resistance (2024), co-authored with Pedro dos Reis, is a documentary photography book that reflects on cultural identity, memory, and resilience.

Pedro dos Reis
Photographer & Visual Artist
Co-founder of editorial and publishing initiatives including Eyesight, Pick, Raum.pt, and Wrongwrong.net, he is also part of the organization of the Lisbon Photography Book Fair and Lab – Lisbon Art Book Fair. His work has been presented in exhibitions and festivals in Portugal and abroad, with projects featured at Fundação – espaço, Pickpocket Gallery, Solar Gallery, and Dínamo 10. In 2024, he co-authored with Nuno Rocha the book Jagozes: Continuity and Resistance, a documentary project on cultural identity, memory, and resilience.

Alexandre Barão
Photographer and Author
Photographer and author of the book Photography with Digital Camera and Smartphone (FCA) and the project Blackout, One Night in the City, which resulted in both a book and an exhibition. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from IST and is a guest professor at IADE – Universidade Europeia. His work spans digital and analog photography, combining artistic practice with teaching.

João Carlos
Artist, Hasselblad Master & Director of F/262 and FSOS
An artist working across photography, curation, and education, his recent work explores mental health, aging, and collective resilience. He is the founder of FSOS – Stories of Solidarity and director of the F/262 International Photography Festival. A Hasselblad Master, he is also a brand ambassador for Fujifilm, Canson Infinity, and SanDisk, and serves on the boards of FEP and APPImagem.

Hélio António
Award-Winning Surf & Ocean Photographer
Born in Nazaré, Portugal, he is an award-winning surf and ocean photographer capturing the power and emotion of the sea. His images have appeared in National Geographic, Surfer’s Journal, Stab, and other leading publications. A regular Surfline contributor since 2015, he also co-authored Salitre, Portugal’s only surf publication. Collaborations include brands such as Red Bull, Porsche, and Mercedes Benz, and in 2024 he was named Photographer of the Year at the Júlio César Andrino Gala.

Teresa Freitas
Photographer & Artist
Her work explores how color can transform the everyday into something cinematic, merging documentary and poetic approaches. She has collaborated with leading international brands such as Porsche, Netflix, and Pantone, and her first solo exhibition in Seoul attracted over 110,000 visitors. Her recent book Flower(s), published by Four Eyes Editions, is a long-term project investigating the cultural, symbolic, and economic roles of flowers in communities worldwide.
