F/262 is built on community.
As an international photography festival rooted in Caldas da Rainha and Óbidos, F/262 depends on passionate, curious, and committed people who want to take part in something meaningful. Our volunteer and student programs are a core part of how the festival comes to life, from exhibitions in public space to talks, workshops, and community projects.
Whether you’re looking to gain hands-on experience, connect with the cultural sector, or support photography as a public and social practice, we’d love to hear from you.
Student Placements & Collaborations
We welcome students and young creatives from areas such as:

F/262 collaborates with partner institutions, including the Instituto Português de Fotografia (IPF), to offer structured internships and curricular placements whenever possible.

Why Volunteer with F/262?
Volunteering at F/262 means being part of a collaborative, creative environment where learning, exchange, and care matter.
Volunteers support the festival across areas such as:
Exhibition and event hosting (invigilation and visitor support)
Guest, artist, and speaker assistance
Educational and community outreach activities
Production, logistics, and installation support
Photography, video, and social media documentation
Audience welcome and accessibility support
You’ll work closely with artists, curators, educators, and the festival team, gaining real insight into how an international cultural event operates.
Practical Information
📍 Open to participants from 16 years old and above
📍 Availability in Caldas da Rainha and/or Óbidos during the festival period
🗓️ Roles may range from one-day support to multi-week involvement
🤝 Certificates of participation and letters of recommendation are available upon request
🕒 Schedules are organised in flexible shifts, depending on role and availability
For volunteers under 18, participation will always respect appropriate supervision and consent procedures.
