F/262 Poto Film Fest

About

Part of the broader F/262 ecosystem, Foto Film Fest focuses on the creative dialogue between the photographic frame and the cinematic sequence—highlighting artists who cross disciplines and projects that blur boundaries.

Nuno Sá — Ilha dos Gigantes Film Screening + Conversation

After eight years of research, this documentary explores the mystery of whale sharks in the Azores. Underwater cameraman Nuno Sá and scientist Jorge Fontes focus on Santa Maria Island, the only place in Europe where a stable population of the world’s largest fish can be found. Working with local fishermen, they uncover a unique feeding collaboration between whale sharks and tuna, before a deep-sea encounter challenges everything we thought we knew about the species.

The film will be screened at the festival, followed by a talk with Nuno Sá.
